What can you use it for?

Build a neighborhood map of restaurant inspections, a live 311-complaints dashboard, or transit-alert tools using NYC’s public datasets. You query city datasets with a SQL-like SoQL language and download results as JSON, CSV or GeoJSON. The API defaults to 1,000 records per request (you can page through results), and registering a free app token raises throttling limits for production apps. It’s a great way to prototype civic apps or explore city data quickly.
